Next Steps

Life is about taking the next right step, and that's something we never outgrow. As long as we're breathing, there's a next right step for each of us! Let us help you find your next right step at Shady Oaks Baptist Church.

Encounter God

Worship is our response to who God is and what He has done.

At Shady Oaks, we Encounter God in Worship on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am, located in the Sanctuary. Every Sunday morning we join together to Encounter God as one unified people, to exalt and lift up the name of Jesus, and to celebrate together through singing, praying, preaching, giving, and more.
We would love to have you worship with us at our Worship Service each week!

What are our services like?

Establish Your Faith

At Shady Oaks Baptist we believe that involvement in a Life Group and connecting with other believers is critical to everyone establishing their faith. This is why we encourage everyone to find their place in a Life Group. For this reason we provide meaningful and practical Life Groups for all ages—from infants to senior adults, which meet every Sunday Morning at 9:30 am.

Equip To Grow

Equipping is all about helping you take the next step in your walk with Jesus Christ. Once Jesus changes your life, you begin a brand new life. Your old life is gone, and a new one has come. Every step you take closer to Jesus helps you experience that life in new ways.

Equip to serve.

Engage Our World

We believe every Christian should Engage.  This means everyone in the church using all their spiritual gifts to serve one another, the lost, the city, the world and ultimately Jesus.
The end result of encountering, establishing, and equipping is engaging our life on mission in our local church, and the neighborhood and the nations. The “engage” element is the goal of the process.
Shady Oaks has a strategy that reaches the neighborhood and the nations.

Are you ready to engage?

Jesus was born in a small rural town roughly 2,000 years ago. He was born into a humble family, to a teenage virgin mother. He lived a relatively quiet life until the age of 30 when He began his public ministry. Throughout the next three years, Jesus performed miracles, preached messages and proclaimed He was God by His word and His works. As promised by the Old Testament Scriptures, Jesus was crucified on a Roman cross to save humanity from sin, Satan and death. On the third day, Jesus rose from death and appeared to hundreds before ascending into the clouds to join His heavenly Father.

Jesus arrived on the stage of human history with a mission.  He was to reveal who God is, to show His reign as King and to reconcile men and women to God. In reconciling us to God, Jesus lived and died as a sacrificial substitute, living perfectly in the place of sinners, and dying gruesomely in the place of the guilty. Jesus is therefore the Savior of the world, the only way for sinners to be saved from the righteous wrath of God. Jesus accomplished His mission through His death, atoning for our sin, and through His resurrection, rising in victory over Satan, sin and death.

Baptism is your first step when you follow Jesus. It's a symbol of what Jesus did for us and shows the world that you now follow Him. The Bible tells us that once we find salvation in Christ, the next step in obedience to Him is to be baptized. Christian baptism is an important and personal display of faith, and one which is shared publicly as a testimony to a Christian’s commitment to following Jesus. It signifies that we are dead to our former life of sin, made clean, and resurrected to a new life in Jesus Christ. ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit’ – Matthew 28:19.  Baptism is how we go public with our faith in Christ. If you are considering being baptized, or have any questions regarding baptism, email us or call us at (817) 282.0237.
