Our children’s ministry exists to partner with parents to lead children to become disciples who change the world. Kids, birth through 6th grade will experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. Our goal is for your child to have fun and learn about Jesus on their level while building relationships that nurture and encourage growth in Christ.

Sunday Mornings

The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered Bible study resource that follows a chronological timeline of Bible events–presenting the story of redemption through Jesus like kids have never seen it before! Each week, these stories come to life through video, music, activities and more.
Preschool (babies through Pre-K) - This environment is created for our littlest ones.  Our preschool area offers dedicated and loving volunteers who will show our children Jesus’ love by praying over them and teaching them dynamic lessons through songs, stories, and hands-on activities.
Elementary (K-6th) - This environment is created for kids K-6th grade. Your child will begin learning what it means to follow Jesus. Your child will arrive and engage in a 9:30 a.m. Life Group by grade where caring volunteers will lead relational discussions along with playing exciting activities that reinforce the Bible story for that day. Next your child will experience worship with their family at 11:00 a.m. in our corporate worship service.
At 11:00 a.m., babies through Pre-K children are cared for in our preschool area by loving, trained leaders.  They learn about Jesus through story time and fun activities.

Corporate Worship

We encourage families to worship together during our Sunday service at 11:00 AM. We hope to integrate children and students into the life of the church where they can live out our mission with their parents and other adults.

Wednesday Nights

AWANA is a tool we use to sink Scripture into the hearts and minds of our kids, 3 years old through 6th grade, here at the SOBC. We think one of the most important gifts we can give to the next generation is a deep and lasting knowledge of God’s Word, and AWANA is designed to work with parents in cultivating that in the lives of our kids through an exciting, weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Safety is very important to us. You can relax as you attend an adult small group and our adult service knowing that your child is being loved on by caring volunteers. All of our volunteers are background checked and every area is monitored. Upon check-in, you and your child will be given matching identification stickers. Your child will wear the name tag portion that has a code that matches yours. This is our way of keeping your child safe. During checkout, you will return to your child’s room and show your sticker for your child to be released to you.
